¡Hola! Thanks for learning Spanish with us. We designed this interesting PDF worksheet to help you practice some essential verbs with irregular past participles in Spanish. This material is complementary to another about regular participles in Spanish that we shared before. Let’s start…
Directions:
Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet. They can also solve it online on this page.
Regular participles in Spanish are formed by replacing a verb’s ending with the suffixes “-ado/-ada” and “-ido/ida”. However, there are several common verbs with irregular participles in Spanish. Therefore, we must memorize their irregular forms in the participles. A few of them have double participles too.
To solve the first exercise, students must read three sentences and fill in the gaps with both participle forms in Spanish for each verb, regular and irregular. We recommend using a conjugation tool to double-check they are using the right form. For the second exercise, students must find out what the irregular participles of the verb in parentheses are and write them down in the blank spaces. Finally, for the third exercise, students must read a short conversation, find and circle all the verbs in participle in it.
