The Classroom in Spanish – PDF Worksheet

¡Hola! This worksheet was designed to help you practice the vocabulary for the classroom in Spanish through a basic, but very interesting exercise. This worksheet complements another about classroom objects in Spanish, only this time we are introducing new elements about this topic.

Directions:

Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.

First, students should take a look at the images in the worksheet. Then, they must find names of these classroom objects or people in Spanish, all of which you might find in most schools. We have included a little bit of technology, as it is really important to have access to digital resources through apps and websites. Make sure to identify the objects properly, compare with your classmates, and ask the teacher for guidance if needed.

Look at the illustration of a classroom. Then, drag and drop the names of each of these people or objects in Spanish into the correct boxes. ¡Buena suerte!

Class activity: What’s the ideal classroom?

Show the class a picture of two classrooms, project them onto the board, or make copies for students to see the pictures clearly. Find out what classroom words in Spanish learners know. Say the names of the objects and ask them to repeat the words they don’t know or have trouble saying. Make sure both pictures are different, probably one with just the most basic items to develop a class and the other with everything they could dream of. Then, ask them to write 5 short sentences like: “En esta aula de clases, hay un/una/unos/unas + object” as in:

  • Hay un bolígrafo
  • Hay unos libros
  • “En esta aula, no hay marcadores”.

Once they have described both classrooms, the teacher could tell them that all classrooms are different, but still you can always make the most out of the resources available sometimes.
