¡Hola! Thanks for learning Spanish with us. We designed another PDF worksheet to practice the rules behind the past perfect tense in Spanish, called “el pretérito pluscuamperfecto” in the language. We hope you can get the best out of this material.
Directions:
Students could work individually or in pairs on this worksheet. They can also solve it online with the interactive quizzes in this page.
At the top of this worksheet, we explain that “el pretérito pluscuamperfecto” is used to talk about events that took place before another event in the past, for example:
- Yo renté un apartamento. (I rented an apartment)
- Yo compré mi propia casa. (I bought my own house)
- Yo había rentado un apartamento antes de comprar mi casa propia. (I had rented an apartment before buying my own house.)
Exercise No. 1: Students must complete a chart with the right conjugations of the verb “HABER” and the past participle of the verbs in the first column. The verb HABER is conjugated in the simple past (el pretérito imperfecto) for this tense. They can always double-check the right form of verbs with a conjugation tool.
Exercise No. 2: Students must read the clues, unscramble the sentences and write them on the lines, making sure to conjugate “haber” properly for the Spanish past perfect and use the correct past participles for the main verbs in each sentence.
