The Past Participle in Spanish – PDF Worksheet

¡Hola! Thanks for using our resources to practice Spanish. This worksheet was designed to help you practice the grammar rules to form the past participle in Spanish, a verb conjugation that complements several tenses in the Spanish language just like it does in English. Let’s start…

Directions:

Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.

On top of the worksheet, you will find a short explanation on how both regular and irregular participles work. Remember, Spanish participles are formed by transforming a verb’s ending from -AR, -ER, -IR to -ADO/IDO, or a different form if the verb has an irregular participle, something we have covered with more details in a grammar lesson linked below. To solve the first exercise, students must conjugate a list of 8 verbs with regular participles in Spanish and then use these verbs on the left to complete the sentences on the right so that they make sense. As usual, we recommend using a conjugation tool to double-check they are using the right form. As for the second exercise, students must fill in the blanks in each sentence using the correct past irregular past participles of the verbs in parentheses.
