¡Hola! Today, we will be sharing another grammar worksheet, this time on -IR regular verbs in Spanish. Hopefully, the exercises in this worksheet will help you reinforce your knowledge on this topic.

Directions:

Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.

First of all, this worksheet presents a short definition of regular verbs in Spanish, that is verbs that follow specific conjugation rules depending on their ending. The first exercise includes a list of common -IR regular verbs in Spanish. The first one (ABRIR- to open) has already been conjugated so all they need to do is to conjugate the remaining nine verbs following the same pattern. Please review the lesson on this topic on our website before working on this worksheet. As for the second exercise, students must complete the sentences using the right conjugation for each -IR regular verb in Spanish in parenthesis.

Extra activity:

Students play a game. The teacher prepares a ball made out of different layers of paper, each one with a verb with -IR endings. He hands a student the ball and then turns around until the ball is randomly taken by another student. That student must make at least 3 sentences using the -IR regular verb in Spanish in the outer part of the ball. The game continues until there is no more verbs.
