¡Hola! Thank you for visiting our site and learning Spanish with us. This time, we have designed a very interesting worksheet containing a set of common verbs that will be used in basic sentences related to actions in progress in Spanish, usually called “perífrasis durativa”. We hope that you find it very useful.
Students could work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises on this worksheet.
First of all, this worksheet explains a little about the basic use of the verb ESTAR plus gerunds to make sentences about actions in progress. Students should carefully read the examples that are provided on top of the worksheet as they are the type of sentences they should write later on exercise No. 2. As for the first exercise, students must write down the word/verb that each drawing represents from the ones in the box. There are 21 Spanish actions verbs in total. Afterwards, they must write sentences using ten verbs from the ones in exercise No. 1.

- The Present Progressive in Spanish: ESTAR + Gerund
- Common Spanish Irregular Verbs: List and Sentences
Students work with a partner and practice asking and answering questions about what the people in the pictures are doing in Spanish and adding make-believe information, eg. “¿Qué está haciendo él? – Está observando una montaña“. Finally, students take turns to ask and answer questions about what other people in the class are doing.
