Indirect Object Pronouns in Spanish – PDF Worksheet No. 2

Hello! Thanks for joining us. This time, we are sharing a PDF worksheet to help you practice the indirect object pronouns in Spanish with a very interesting exercise. Let’s get to work!

Instructions:

Students can work individually or in pairs to solve the exercises. They can also solve them online on this page.

As we explained briefly in this worksheet, “el complemento indirecto” or indirect object designates the people or things to which something is directed or intended, using the preposition “a.” This part of the sentence can be replaced by the pronouns “le” and “les”— something commonly referred to as “leísmo.” To solve this exercise, students must read and analyze several short sentences, identify the indirect object in each one, and rewrite them using the correct Spanish indirect object pronoun to replace these objects; for example:

  • Marcos vendió el auto a un coleccionista. (Who did he sell it to? – A un coleccionista. This phrase would be replaced easily by the pronoun «le»)
  • Marcos le vendió el auto. (We must place the indirect object pronoun before the verb.)
