Hello! Thanks for joining us. We designed this great PDF worksheet to practice Spanish possessives, the equivalent of possessive pronouns and adjectives, through two simple yet engaging exercises. Let’s get started!
Instructions:
Students can work individually or in pairs on these exercises. They can also solve them using the online quizzes on this page.
First, keep in mind that there are two types of possessives in Spanish, words like “mío” (mine) or “tuyo” (yours) that are used after a verb or other words, and words like “mi”(my) or “tu” (your) that are placed before nouns, just the way possessive pronouns and adjectives work in English respectively.
- Exercise No. 1: Students must read a set of twenty sentences using Spanish possessives—ten in the left column featuring possessive adjectives and ten in the right column featuring possessive pronouns. Then, they must complete the unfinished sentence in each row with the correct possessive so that both sentences convey the same meaning.
- Exercise No. 2: Students read thirteen different sentences and circle or highlight the correct possessive to complete each sentence, taking into account the grammatical rules for these words. Then, they compare answers with their classmates and finally receive feedback from their teacher.
